No doubt any political junkie has followed the “market crisis” with either immature panic (like the media) or great enjoyment (like me). The market crisis, brought on by the almost incomprehensible greed of the American mindset, has been forecast by those of us with some knowledge of history and the human condition for quite some time (I would refer the skeptic to those writers around the turn of the 20th century who were concerned with a quaint little concept called distributism). But it’s always funny to watch people panic and gnash their teeth when their sins are requited in exactly the same way as those same sins of their fathers. It’s said that insanity may be described as doing exactly the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. In that case, the majority of humankind can be described as insane.
Be that as it may, the crash of the American and western markets (inevitable, and now well on its way) will be remembered as one of the benchmarks by which the decline and fall of the west may be measured. It is not with some small regret that those of us who hold to and treasure the legacy of western civilization, particularly that most pure and honest Catholic legacy, witness its fall. She was once mighty, and her place in history is assured. But fall she will, and miserable are we, her sons who are doomed to watch her fall.
There is a solution to the financial problem which has not and will not be discussed in those circles of influence which may have some power over the markets. That is the solution of amnesty. Debt is our problem - we can eliminate the problem by simply forgiving the debts. Give back the ownership of land to the people, and in doing so allow them to hold real ownership of property (a concept whose loss, as the founding fathers would have told us, always leads to tyranny). The markets as we know them would collapse, removing those bastard sons of the Puritans who caused this problem in the first place, but the western economy would become mighty - knowing a level of wealth and prosperity unprecedented in modern times.
I say this option will not be discussed for two reasons. For one, those greed-filled scum who run the western markets would recoil in horror at the prospect of giving the common man the power of owning property, and thereby freeing him from his current slavery. The other reason is that the collapse of the American markets has been calculated for a long time. It is a necessary step toward National Socialism, and the United States will be accurately described as a National Socialist State before the end of next year. We are already close. Now the enemy moves, and he has prepared his path too well to fail.
Government ownership of the banks (or, more probably, one or two very large centralized banks) is the next step. No matter that Bush’s last proposal to do exactly that failed - those behind this move to National Socialism will continue to push that proposal until it succeeds. (By the way - at this juncture I actually feel a bit sorry for old W. He’s far too naive to realize what he’s championing). The next step will probably be the removal of those small freedoms which still remain in the way of lifetime and unadulterated slavery (though it will not be called such - one writer expects something like “lifetime employment,” and I expect he is correct). One of those freedoms is religion, and it may be one of the first to go. The goal is to make certain that power is entirely concentrated in the hands of a few, and all others are born into and die in slavery.
But fear not, friends. History will repeat itself, as it always does, and those who would seek to enslave us will fail. We have a fight coming. This time, that fight will probably not take place on a pitched battlefield - at least not at first. That fight will bring itself to your doorstep, and you will be forced to choose whom you serve. But “why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death.”
Much Ado About Politicians

McCain seems to have done well for himself by picking this Palin character. He has probably secured soundly the vote of every SUV-driving pool-boy-humping psuedo-Christian soccer mom in the country. He has certainly managed to create for himself a flag-hurling, screaming cheerleader section of WASPs, much as Obama has enjoyed the same abandoned and stupid adoration of the “progressive” left.
Let us, the calmer-headed cynics, tune out for but a moment the vile insanity of the lemmings and examine, on their merits, these two candidates, thereby exposing them for what they are, and not what they would like you to believe them to be.
Let us start with Obama. He is a cowardly pseudo-intellectual who babbles on about things he cannot understand, while supporting staunchly some of the vilest acts ever conceived by mankind. I call him cowardly, however, because he refuses (publicly) to acknowledge them for what they are.
Take, for example, his support of abortion. Obama has repeatedly stated that he supports and will promote abortion in all of its forms. His track record in Illinois has proven him on this point. He has even opposed a measure to allow the euthanasia of babies that survive botched abortion procedures. He supports murder, even to the point of opposing the humane killing of a baby suffering from the horrible violence of a botched partial-birth abortion, instead wishing him or her to spend their first and last moments in the world dying in extreme agony. But he is, as we have said, a coward, in that he refuses to recognize abortion for what it is. On the far left, recognizing it for what it is (yet still supporting it) is not unheard of. For reference I use author Camille Paglia, whose intellectual honesty, while perhaps unsettling, is nevertheless perfectly intact.
Another point of examination by which we might see Obama for what he is concerns a little piece of legislation, already passed 400-6 by the House, and for which Obama has registered his strong support. It’s called the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act. And here, we begin to see for real the direction that our dear old US of A is headed. Phillip Giraldi has a pretty good write-up on it here, and the full text is available for your perusal here, but I will quickly summarize it. Hold on to your britches.
The act allows for the creation of an inquisition board, known as the National Commission on the Prevention of Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism. This commission, consisting of 10 appointed members (the appointments would be handed down by various folks within the government, some of whom are not themselves elected - see the text under section 899c), would have the power to hold hearings, in which they would actually administer oaths, for the purposes of rooting out “terrorists,” specifically terrorists determined to be “homegrown” (read, citizens). The commission would be given nearly carte-blanche power within the government, having the ability to commandeer any military or government employee or tool for whatever purporses they deem necessary. Furthermore, the commission itself will determine what exactly “homegrown terrorism” is. Once the commission’s work is complete, there would be established a permenant Center of Excellence for the Prevention of Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism, which would continue the work of the commission as they have defined it. So this act would create in the US an commission of inquisition, and afterwards an American version of the KGB. It would be nearly identical to the militant police wing of every facist and socialist state, having the power to root out and destroy, without resonsibility or consequence, any person or group deemed to be a threat to the state. And Obama staunchly supports it. This, my friends, is the future.
McCain, while picking a VP candidate who at least panders to the right, is little better. It’s difficult to know exactly what he believes or stands for, because he changes it often, but rest assured that he believes that you are little more than a pawn of the state, and must always be willing to give it everything whenever it demands everything of you. So what, dear friends and potential voters, does this mean for you? It means, of course, that you’ll be given the freedom, by your master the almighty state, to choose whose face you will think of when the afformentioned commission kicks in your door, rapes and kills your spouse and children, and drags you off to suffer unmentionable horrors in its most unquestionable wisdom and generosity. It means that you will indeed be given a choice between two identical devils, seperated by little more than the features of their face.
So it’s important that you not give them the fucking time of day, my friends. Don’t refuse to vote because it doesn’t make a difference who you vote for. Refuse to vote because you refuse to give the state the ability to blame the calamity it brings down on its own citizens on you. This citizen will be proud to proclaim that he never once took part in the system that brought down the country he loves.

Russians

Awhile back I noted that the negative Russian response to the United States’ plan to place a missile defense system in Poland was worth watching. Turns out I was right, though no “I told you so” is in order here. Russia’s response to the US and Poland’s recent action in signing the bill is chilling.
In response to the deal, Russia has threatened to target Poland with nuclear weapons. Speaking to Reuters in Warsaw, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice denounced Russia’s remarks about military action against Poland as “pathetic rhetoric,” saying they “border on the bizarre.”
No, Condi, they don’t. If the Bush administration had the slightest grasp of foreign policy, and perhaps a little common sense, they would understand this rhetoric perfectly, take it seriously, and most importantly, would be taking some swift and sure steps to cripple Russia’s power. This statement, coupled with the recent unprovoked and thuggish invasion of Georgia by Russian forces, highlights the following truth.
Russia is being run by the mob. The current leadership in Russia is a highly volatile and dangerous, though predictable, collection of thugs and strongmen who have arisen from the ashes of the highly corrupt and equally violent communist regime. Russia is becoming, in every sense of the word, a very powerful rouge state.
The Bush administration, however, and seemingly, the rest of the world, have decided that the best course of action is not to “provoke” them. This is naive. Not provoking the schoolyard bully simply makes him more likely to see you as a weak target, easy to brutalize. And the truth is, the US is weak, and we know it. Our economy is in the worst state it has been in for a long time. Very little manufacturing capability remains in the US, even compared to our ability during of the Cold War. Our military, drastically weakened by the Clinton administration, is busy holding down the failing and ill-conceived debacle which is Iraq. And finally, Bush has lost the moral high ground by himself preemptively invading and occupying a sovereign nation.
Mark my words. This is the beginning of the end for United States world power. While we are still powerful, we have gradually and surely lost our influence in the world, and our next election will seal this deal. Unless I’m markedly mistaken, Obama will win it, and he just doesn’t have the balls to play with the kind of hardcore bullies now ruling the Middle East and Russia. The scariest fact is that they know this.
As the sign held by some nameless survivor of the world trade center bombings so prophetically displayed a day after the event, “We need a hero, now.” So we do.
Oklahoma and the 10th

Fantastic piece by Mr. Walter WIlliams in Townhall.com this morning, discussing what he calls “Oklahoma’s rebellion.” As way of back story, Oklahoma is trying to pass a resolution, introduced by state representative Charles Key, which states the following, in part (as quoted by Mr. Williams):
“Whereas, the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads as follows: ‘The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.’; and Whereas, the Tenth Amendment defines the total scope of federal power as being that specifically granted by the Constitution of the United States and no more; and whereas, the scope of power defined by the Tenth Amendment means that the federal government was created by the states specifically to be an agent of the states; and Whereas, today, in 2008, the states are demonstrably treated as agents of the federal government. … Now, therefore, be it resolved by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the 2nd session of the 51st Oklahoma Legislature: that the State of Oklahoma hereby claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States. That this serve as Notice and Demand to the federal government, as our agent, to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers.”
Bravo to Rep. Key for introducing this resolution, which passed overwhelmingly in the house but has bogged down in the senate. Let’s hope that it actually does pass, and that it actually does accomplish something.
I would like to nitpick at Mr. Williams for one small thing, however, which in its implications may not be so small. That is the idea of revolution. Mr. Williams seems to characterize Rep. Key’s resolution as revolutionary, and advocates “a bit of rebellion by officials in other states.” I think it’s dangerous to think that way. A patriot is never revolutionary. Revolutions, as shown by history, lead only to more revolutions. A patriot is a reformer - he does not fight to overthrow government, but to restore it to what it ought to be. Sometimes a government can be so completely corrupt as to require overthrow, but only of the occupants of seats of power within the government, not of the government itself. It’s important, as patriots living in a time of massively and overwhelmingly corrupt and tyrannical government, to recognize this thing.
Interestingly, Rep. Key appears to recognize this, as his resolution makes very clear the fact that its ideals are rooted firmly in the 10th amendment of the US constitution. For once, this is a very healthy piece of legislature and I commend the Oklahoma House of Representatives for its patriotism.
And forgive me, Mr. Williams, if I’ve simply nitpicked at your choice of words, and not your idea. It is certain that a lot more reformation by officials in other states, and a militant mindset of reformation by the people, is much needed and required to restore our government to what it ought to be.
What Happens to Those Who Cross the Almighty State

The photojournalist who was beaten and arrested by Miami cops for photographing them on a public street has been convicted of resisting arrest, and has been sentenced to 1 year of probation, 100 hours of community service, anger management classes, and must pay over $500 in fines and court costs.
The photojournalist (Carlos Miller) was photographing a construction zone in Miami when the cops stopped and told him to “keep walking.” Miller refused, saying that it was a public street and that he had a right to be there (correct on both counts). He photographed them when they became confrontational and abusive, so the cops tackled him, bashed his head against the pavement, smashed his camera, and arrested him.
The two cops have not yet been publically burned by the people of Miami, as would be appropriate.
Unlawful Photography

A sheriff’s deputy in Johnson County, TN (Tricities area) arrested a man the other day for taking a picture of him. So far as I know, the cop has not yet been arrested himself and locked up for abuse of power.
Here and here are two local bloggers responding (very well) to the story. Here’s the story itself.
The cop in question, who unfortunately isn’t named in the story (but should have been), claims he “feared for his life” when Scott Conover took a picture of him. That means he’s either a coward or a liar, or both. The deputy claims the phone looked like a laser pointer (not sure how that’s life threatening either), but that’s ridiculous, since the phone in question was an iPhone - not at all resembling anything like a laser.
The charges against Conover will likely be dropped. The cop in question will not likely receive so much as a good ass-chewing by his superior. In fact, the Johnson County Sheriff’s department is already protecting him.
Let’s cut to the chase. Even if the phony charges are dropped, this arrest was illegal, and this deputy has blatantly deceived and betrayed the people he is sworn to serve. Conover is due a large amount of compensation for this, and the cop should be jailed for a long time, at the very least. His superiors should be fired for covering up for him. If the people of Johnson County settle for anything less, they deserve the abuse they are suffering.
Immigrants in US vs. Jews in Germany

The interesting thing about this story isn’t so much the story. We’re used to cops treating immigrants (and citizens) like animals. But read the comments.
Some back story first, in case you don’t feel like reading the article. A Hispanic woman was arrested for driving without a license and imprisoned. She happened to be pregnant, and on July 5th went into labor. Metro cops took her to General hospital, where she was shackled to the bed during the delivery. A spokesperson for the cops says she was actually only shackled until about 2 hours before the delivery and then wasn’t shackled again until 6 hours afterward. They’re lying; the nurses at the hospital say that she was shackled the whole time, and that she wasn’t allowed basic sanitation after the birth, etc. The nurses have no reason to lie, and the cops have every reason to lie. But whatever - since most cops in larger cities treat citizens like animals - treating immigrants like animals is probably an improvement.
Now for the comments. Here are some highlights:

“…deport her before she drops the kid she is carrying so the illegal baby does not become a US Citizens and her ticket to stay and take advantage of the social programs meant for American Citizens! AMERICANS FIRST, ILLEGALS LAST, DRILL HERE DRILL & NOW!”
“She was allowed to stay to have a anchor baby at out expense.”
“Hey she got what she deserves, break our laws go to jail. Ship her illegal ars back to where she came from. What rights does she have? IMO, NONE!”
“Illegal…they have NO rights to file lawsuits!!! They have NO rights to expect to be treated as an honored guest!!! THEY HAVE NO RIGHTS, PERIOD!!!”
“Stop the gravy train and they strays will look elsewhere for their meals.”
Ignoring the obvious illiteracy of these commenters, it’s striking to note that so far, there is not a single comment on the post with even the slightest hint of compassion for this woman - forced to bear a child in pretty miserable conditions. In fact, most people seem to think the government should have dumped her across the border and forced her to bear her child in whatever way she could manage. What we should point out, here, is the striking parallels between the public’s opinion outlined by these posts and that of the German people toward the Jews circa 1935. The American public no longer sees an immigrant of any kind, but specifically Hispanic immigrants, as human. These posts demonstrate that clearly. In the opinion of these posters, they have no rights and are merely a drain on our economy - two opinions which exactly mirror those of the German people toward Jews before and during the holocaust. They are an inferior race, worthy only of death and misery. We, meanwhile, are the master race. As one of the redneck posters above so succinctly put it, “AMERICANS FIRST, ILLEGALS LAST.”
How striking that we learn so little from history. Sometimes all that is needed to prophesy is a thorough knowledge of the past.
A Corrupt Cop? In NY? No.

Here’s a fine example of a cop who needs to be busted back to crossing guard. Apparently, this isn’t the first time he’s been sued for civil rights violations based on false arrests.
The main problem with this story, though, is that Spencer is blatantly lying on his reports, and in sworn testimony before the court. Not that it matters - he should be serving jail time for this - but it isn’t the first time he’s lied about something like this, either. And the city of Brooklyn apparently doesn’t care.
I point this out, not because I care two shits for those damn Yankees, but because this kind of thing mostly flies under the radar, both on the media and court circuit. A jackbooted thug passing for a cop arresting random people and lying about it, in sworn testimony before the court, is just glossed over, maybe at best with a passing hope that it never happens to us.
Missing Jury Duty in DC Means Jail Time

Here’s some more great news from the “GREATEST CITY ON THE EARTHS!!” Apparently, if you miss jury duty in DC, you’re going to be arrested and jailed. Oh, um, and there’s a negligible little $300 fine that will not in any way be used to pay for a government dignitary’s Rolls Royce.
A psychological truth, verified by history, says that when an authority treats people like criminals, they tend to act like criminals. If the authority treats them like honorable citizens, they tend to act like honorable citizens. This stupid act by Chief Judge Rufus King will not help people to take jury duty more seriously. They may show up more often (though that’s debateable), but they’re less likely to act like responsible citizens when they do. We don’t have the time, space, or desire to rehash why that’s important, and a judge ought to know.
